I blended a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks onto my 4″ x 5.25″ background to start. (Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Cracked Pistachio, Fossilized Amber, and Worn Lipstick.) Then I cut a rectangle out of the center with my paper trimmer. I used the inner rectangle as the sunken-down inside piece of the shaker, so I used the whole background that I created.
I embossed the sentiment “Swimming by to say” on the window – which warped a bit because I did not use high-heat acetate. But that’s OK, I had a feeling that would happen but wanted to experiment. My 5yo daughter helped me pick out the sequins and glitter to add inside the shaker 🙂
I just love all of the fun images that come in this stamp set. They’re very versatile and what makes the mermaid especially fun is you can get pretty wild with your color choices! Her hair was fun to make multi-colored, and as you can see below, I added some fun shine with my shimmer brush.
Thanks for visiting, hope you enjoyed!
