Hi, I’m Jayma! I’m a scrapbooker at heart, but I also love cardmaking, stamping, and just about anything that involves playing with paper!
I’m a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, former Close to My Heart Maker of more than 16 years, leader of the Paper Divas team, and a member of the Creative Design Team. I love sharing creative ideas, techniques, and inspiration to help others enjoy this hobby as much as I do.
A little more about me: I’m married to my best friend, mom to two wonderful kids, Kailyn and Tyler, and dog mom to our husky, Koda. I’m a digital marketer by day, a lifelong crafter, and a gluten-free foodie. I’ve lived all over the West Coast, spent some time in Indiana, and now call the Denver, Colorado, area home.
My favorite thing about scrapbooking is that it gives us a creative outlet while preserving the memories and stories that matter most. I love finding ways to create beautiful layouts without making the process overly complicated. And when I share my projects, I like to explain the why behind my design decisions, whether it’s choosing patterned papers, arranging photos or adding those finishing touches. My hope is that you’ll take the ideas I share and make them your own. After all, crafting should be fun!
Sharing My Love of Scrapbooking
I started posting to my YouTube channel regularly in 2018 as another way to share my love of paper crafting. What began as a fun way to share projects has grown into one of my favorite ways to connect with other crafters. I love bringing you along for the entire creative process, including the decisions, changes of direction and occasional mistakes! My hope is that watching me create gives you the confidence to try something new at your own craft table.
More Than Just Paper and Stamps
Another wonderful part of my creative journey has been the Creative Design Team (CDT). Together, we’ve built a community of paper crafters who love learning, sharing ideas, and creating together. Through our membership, classes, events and sketchbooks, we share inspiration for both scrapbooking and cardmaking. One of my favorite things is connecting with creative friends from all over the world!
As much as I love the creative side of this hobby, the friendships are what make it truly special. Some of my dearest friends are people I met through scrapbooking, and I love that we can connect and create together no matter where we live. I never imagined that a childhood love of rubber stamps would lead to such an incredible community!

MY FULL STORY
My love for stamping began in junior high when my sister and I discovered rubber stamps and embossing powder at the county fair. We bought a starter kit and were hooked! Before long, we were attending monthly D.O.T.S. (Dozens of Terrific Stamps) parties with friends and spending just about every penny of our babysitting money and allowance on stamps.
Eventually, school and life got busy, and stamping took a back seat. But my love for paper crafting never completely went away. I even made a few scrapbooks in college using a three-ring binder, office page protectors, and letters and shapes cut from magazines. They were pretty basic by today’s standards, but I sure had fun!
Years later, at my first job, a coworker and I discovered that we’d both attended D.O.T.S. parties growing up. We got curious about whether the company was still around, so we looked it up on the ol’ Google machine. As it turned out, D.O.T.S. had become Close to My Heart (CTMH), and oh my goodness, had stamping and scrapbooking come a long way!
I couldn’t wait to find a local consultant. I hosted a party, made a card, and immediately wanted ALL THE THINGS. So naturally, I signed up to become a consultant myself!
That was August 2008, and I’ve never looked back.
What started as a love for stamps and pretty paper turned into something I never could have imagined. I began sharing my projects, eventually started my YouTube channel, built a business, earned incentive trips, and made wonderful friendships with people all over the world.
More importantly, this hobby helped a quiet, shy girl find her voice. Through teaching, sharing, and connecting with other crafters, I gained confidence and discovered a passion for inspiring others.
When Close to My Heart announced its closure in February 2024, I was heartbroken. That company had been such a huge part of my life for more than 16 years. I’ll always be grateful for the friendships, opportunities, and experiences it gave me.
But as one chapter ended, another began.
I joined Stampin’ Up! in 2024 and was excited to continue doing what I love with another company that offers beautiful, high-quality products and coordinating colors. I was especially thrilled that Stampin’ Up! embraced scrapbooking, making it possible for so many of us former CTMH Makers to continue our creative journeys.
Today, I love being part of the Stampin’ Up! community and leading my Paper Divas team. I’m grateful for the journey that brought me here and, most of all, for the wonderful friendships I’ve made along the way!
MY FIRST SCRAPBOOK
When I was 15, I made a mini scrapbook for my dad to display in his office. I remember being absolutely terrified to cut that first photo!
I started with a simple 4″ × 6″ photo album and cut pages from plain white copy paper. I trimmed photos into different shapes and decorated the pages with stickers, markers, clip art I’d printed and cut out, and, of course, stamps.
I even covered the album with fabric to make it look like a shirt and tie!
Looking at it now makes me laugh, but my dad loved it. In fact, he still proudly displays it in his office.
Little did I know that simple little album would be the beginning of a lifelong passion for scrapbooking.
AN EYE FOR DESIGN (THANKS, MOM!)
I definitely inherited my love for color, design, and all things creative from my mom.
I’ve been crafting with her for as long as I can remember! She was a floral designer who created beautiful arrangements for high-end events, and creativity was always part of our home.
When my sister and I were little, she sewed us beautiful sundresses, organized crafts for Vacation Bible School, and always had some kind of creative project for us to work on.
Over the years, she’s explored everything from floral design to pastels and mosaics. She’s incredibly talented, and I love that we share a passion for making beautiful things, even when we’re working with different mediums.
I credit her with teaching me to appreciate color, balance, and design — skills I use every time I sit down to scrapbook.
I FEEL LUCKY…OH SO LUCKY!
Sometimes I think about how a little rubber stamp kit from the county fair turned into all of this.
What started as a childhood hobby has become a creative passion, a business, and a community of friends around the world.
