I love to make pretty things and I love to inspire YOU in your paper crafting journey, I focus on scrapbooking, but I also enjoy cardmaking, stamping, Cricuting, and any other paper crafting. When I found CTMH 15+ years ago, I first fell in love with the clear stamps and easy-to-match products. Then I fell in love with all the other high-quality products that help me complete beautiful projects faster, simpler, and easier β€” which is always a plus in my book! When CTMH closed its doors, I joined Stampin’ Up in 2024 to continue this journey that I started and LOVE. They also have beautiful, high-quality stamps and papers, with colors that coordinate perfectly! Join me as I share my passion for Playing With Paper! Please contact me if you have any questions!

MY STORY

I started stamping in junior high, when my sister and I were introduced to rubber stamps and embossing powder at the county fair! We bought a starter kit and would stamp the days away! We were soon introduced to D.O.T.S. (Dozens of Terrific Stamps) and would have monthly parties with our friends. We spent ALL of our babysitting earnings and allowance on stamps!

We eventually got busy with school and life and stopped stamping. But I did make some scrapbooks in college! I used a school 3-ring binder and office page protectors and cut shapes and letters out of magazines! But I sure had fun!

Eventually, when in my first job, a co-worker and I started talking about stamping. Turns out we both used to go to D.O.T.S. parties! So we looked them up on the ol’ Google machine and found that D.O.T.S. had become Close to my Heart. My, had stamping and cardmaking come a long way!!! I couldn’t WAIT to find my local consultant! So I did, and I hosted a party where we made a card, and I wanted ALL THE THINGS, so I joined CTMH as a Consultant myself! That was in Aug. of 2008 and I have never looked back. I am so thankful that I was introduced to stamping all those years ago, that the conversation with my co-worker came up, and that I found CTMH and could join. It has changed my life!

When CTMH announced in February 2024 that they were closing, I was devastated. This company has meant so much to me. This quiet, shy girl found her voice through scrapbooking. I found my passion and started sharing videos on YouTube. I grew my business and earned incentive trips I never dreamed possible! I met the best of friends in the best industry! And I owe it all to Close to my Heart. Sure, I worked really hard. But CTMH gave me the platform, helped me build my confidence, and gave me opportunities I wouldn’t have had on my own. I will forever be grateful.

Now that CTMH is closed, I have embarked on a new, but similar journey with Stampin’ Up! I am so thankful that these two companies have worked together to create a happy home for all of us former CTMH Makers. Stampin’ Up is expanding their lines to include 12×12 scrapbooking (previously they focused on cardmaking) and all that entails. I look forward to meeting new friends, both Stampin’ Up demonstrators as well as the amazing customers I have come to call friends. I am so grateful that you are all on this journey with me and love sharing my creativity and scrapbooking ideas with you!

MY FIRST SCRAPBOOK

When I was 15 I made a mini scrapbook for my dad to display in his office. I was terrified to cut the first photo! I took a 4″ x 6″ photo album and cut (with scissors) several pages from plain white copy paper. I cut the photos in different shapes and decorated around them with stickers, markers, clip-art I printed and cut out, and stamps. I even covered the mini-album with fabric to resemble a shirt and tie. My dad still proudly displays this album in his office. Looking at it now makes me laugh, but he loves it, and little did I know it would be the springboard into my passion.

AN EYE FOR DESIGN (THANKS, MOM!)

I get my eye for color and placement from my mom and have been crafting with her since I developed my motor skills! My mom used to be a floral designer and would create beautiful, colorful masterpieces for high-end events. When my sister and I were young, she made us beautiful sundresses, led the crafts for Vacation Bible School, and constantly immersed us in craft projects! Now she has expanded her repertoire to pastels and mosaics too. (In fact, one of her mosaics recently won 2nd place in an art show!) Sometimes she makes cards, but for the most part, we use our design skills with different mediums!

I FEEL LUCKY…OH SO LUCKY!

My oh my has scrapbooking come to a level I never dreamed it would reach! I LOVE any kind of crafting, but especially scrapbooking, cardmaking, stamping, and any other type of crafting where I can use my Cricut and play with paper.
