Flashback Friday: Typeset & Cricut Art Philosophy Card

I’m starting a new feature here on my blog: Flashback Friday. After more than 5 years of blogging I have some great projects buried, so I thought I’d re-surface some of my favorites for you!

This card is one of my most-pinned on Pinterest, and the original post is from September 2011.

I had just gotten the Art Philosophy Cricut collection and played with this beautiful flourish cut and the bracket shapes from the cart. I used a stamp set that I got for attending the CTMH Convention at Disneyland, and made this awesome sentiment the focus of my card.

I started with a 4×4 kraft card base and used the Typeset paper (retired). I love that this card sketch shows off how well the patterns in CTMH paper packs go together.

It’s kind of hard to see it in the picture, but I second-generation stamped a swirly image behind the sentiment in Creme Brulee ink to add a little more depth (you can see better in the photo above). Some glitter gel on the swirl and around the edges of the bracket add the perfect amount of bling!

The bracket shapes are cut at 2″ and 2.5″, and the swirls at 4″ using the Art Philosophy cartridge. The swirls were actually the corner swirl on page 58 of the booklet. I tore it at the corner and used it as 2 pieces.

Art Philosophy is the first Cricut cartridge that CTMH came out with, and it is still my favorite and most-used. Although they are all great! There are a total of 3 to date, but if history is any indication, there will be a new one released at Convention this summer! Be sure to check out Artiste and Artbooking as well. They are all must-haves, with 700 cuts on each cart!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful Friday!
