Baby’s Initial Framed Nursery Decor

As promised, here’s another item I made for Kailyn’s nursery. This is a 12″ x 12″ frame designed for a  scrapbook page, but I took the glass out and made a unique decoration. You may recognize the paper…it’s the same paper I used in her paper mache K. I used the focal floral paper in a few projects throughout the room to tie everything together since it has all the nursery colors in it.

I used a layered chipboard letter from Hobby Lobby for her initial. I painted the sides with acrylic paint and covered it with scrapbook paper.

TIP: To cover a letter like this, trace the letter upside-down onto the back of the paper you want to use. This way your pencil marks from tracing the letter will not show on the front of your project. Then after you adhere the paper, sand the edges to made sure it’s flush with your chipboard.

Here’s a close-up of those fabulous Cricut-cut flowers! For this project I used a mixture of my favorite rose from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and a flower on Artiste. (Both of these cartridges are must-haves!)

Oooh…did you notice that glitter paper?! I am in love with it! It’s just the perfect amount of shine, the glitter won’t rub off, AND it cuts like butter on your Cricut. I also used those fabulous Sparkles Flourishes again. And some Rhinestone brads on the K (but those are now retired…you could use the Base & Bling Floral Accents instead).

I hope you enjoyed. Still more nursery decor to share in upcoming posts 🙂
Happy crafting!
